Thank you for choosing Crusaders Competitive teams – We are pleased to welcome you to Bristol’s most successful Cheer Teams.
Our mission at Crusaders is to enrich the life’s of our children and their families through competitive cheerleading.
Each and every Cheerleader is important to us at Crusaders
Benefits of Competition
Competition can be a healthy and positive addition to your athletes schedule.
Preparing for competition creates an opportunity to set and reach goals both for individual athletes and the team. Developing a routine requires discipline, hard work, and dedication, and the process of working towards this long-term goal can be incredibly valuable to athletes.
Competition sets the stage for cheerleaders and dancers to showcase their talents and abilities. The challenge of performing in front of people builds confidence and self-esteem. It’s a great way for your cheerleaders and dancers to earn the recognition and respect of their fellow athletes and peers. As with any other competitive activity, both the thrill of victory and the disappointment of loss equally build character and teach valuable life lessons.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be committed and attend every practice?
Here at Crusaders we expect a high level of commitment from our competitive Cheerleaders and Parents. Cheerleaders are expected to be at every practice unless holidays have been booked prior to the start of the season and Coaches are informed at the beginning of the season failure to do so will result in your child loosing their place. Coaches also need to be informed before the class starts if a child is sick and not attending. Coaches not being informed is a matter of child protection we do not want to be worrying that something may of happened to them. If you feel that you will not be able to commit to all practices then the recreational classes will be better suited. Please check out our recreational page for class times.
What is your policy for missed practices?
If you choose to miss three practices throughout the season we will ask you to move to a recreatrional team. This year we will be holding two practices per week for level 4 and above teams.
I cannot tumble what do I do?
Don’t panic we have a team for everyone no matter what ability. However to gain a place in a Senior team a minimum tumble requirement of a front summersault to seat drop is required. All Cheerleaders must attend a tumble class to improve their skills.
Do I have to try – out if I was on a competitive team last year?
All Cheerleaders must re try out every season for a place on a competitive team. Parents must attend a beginning of season meeting to clear up any questions they may have and get a better insight into the running of the programme.
Why do we have to pay registration Fees
This cost covers your annual Insurance and uniform rentals. Also covers things like administration and music. Annual registration fees are due in the first week back after Try – outs if the fee is not paid then your child will be unable to train as they will not be insured under our policy.
What is involved with fundraising and where does it go?
We have mandatory and optional fundraising events. Mandatory ones will go towards costs of Nationals Entry Fees, club funds, uniforms and Competition Transport. Optional ones will come of your individual accounts for fees and competitions the more you raise the less you have to pay. We reward our Cheerleaders by using a credit scheme if you collect 15 credits through fundraising or other activities you will get a Crusaders T – Shirt. Please check out our fundraising page for last seasons fundraising events.
I have no experience will I still get in?
Everyone makes a team we use our Try – outs to assess people’s skill level to make sure you are placed within one that will help you be the best you can be. Teams may change slightly throughout the season but you will be informed by your Coaches if this is going to happen.
I am in another team can I do both?
No Sorry you would come across to many clashes
I come from a different team I already know what I am doing
Thats great that you have some previous experience however we would like you to start a fresh with our programme as techniques will differ.
Do I get to compete in America?
At some point this maybe an option for you. Our last team competed in Las Vegas December 2008 gaining 1st in Senior Hip - Hop, 2nd in Senior Large Level 3 and 3rd in Senior Jazz. Competing abroad is important to us however competing in England is our priority for the upcoming season.
Can My Daughter Fly?
If our Coaches feel that she should be a flyer she will be. This decision will not be influenced by parents.
Can I pick and choose which events my Daughter attends?
No you need to be committed to your team we can not change everything around for one person.
But I am a Gymnast and they do not give us dates until nearer the competition.
That is great that you enjoy gymnastics however we give all our dates out in September and expect full commitment. If a gymnastic competition clashes with a pre confirmed cheer event we would expect you to attend the cheer event. If you chose that you would prefer to do the Gymnastics event then it is better that you do not start Crusaders. Anybody missing from any event will result in your child no longer being able to continue with the programme.
I have spoken to Fromeside Gym Club and they say this .........
Crusaders are nothing to do with Fromeside or any other locations in which we train. If you have questions you must direct them straight to me Blueflamebecky@hotmail.com just so thsat I can give you the correct information in which you need to know.
My child never brings home letters we don't know what is going on?
We are aware that this sometimes happens so we put every letter we ever send out on our website. If you give us your e-mail at Try - Outs we will also make sure every letter is e-mailed directly to your account.
I am very confused?
We understand that for some parents it can be difficult changing to a high commitment team activity, however we promise you the results will be worth while. Come along to the parents meeting at the start of the season and ask as many questions as you like it is run by experienced team parents who have been supporting their children through Crusaders for years. Alternatively give me an e-mail and I will be sure to get back to you.
